How Ryan Blaney Clinched His First Win of 2025 at Nashville Superspeedway

Ryan Blaney opened the second half of the NASCAR Cup Series regular season with a dominant win Sunday night at Nashville Superspeedway, marking his first victory of 2025 and first-ever triumph at the Tennessee track.

Turning Point: Seizing the Lead in Stage 2

Blaney, the reigning Cup Series champion, made his winning move late in Stage 2 of the 300-lap race. After staying patient through a chaotic early stretch filled with incidents and cautions, his No. 12 Team Penske Ford came alive as the stage progressed. He passed William Byron and Denny Hamlin to take the lead and never looked back. Once in front, Blaney showcased clinical pace and composure, gradually building a lead and managing it with precision. He stayed out of trouble in a race that saw multiple cautions, including spins and crashes involving Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Noah Gragson, and Christopher Bell.

Outpacing the Field With around 100 laps to go, Blaney’s pace surged. He stretched his lead to over two seconds and held it steady, finishing 2.83 seconds ahead of Carson Hocevar. It was a display of smooth tire management, clean pit stops, and consistent lap times. Blaney’s performance was especially impressive given the field of contenders—Denny Hamlin, in his 700th career start, led for 79 laps and looked strong early but couldn’t match Blaney’s pace in the final third of the race.

Stat Milestones and Final Results

• Blaney: 14th career win, 1st win at Nashville, 1st of the 2025 season
• Hocevar: Career-best 2nd place • Hamlin: 3rd in his milestone 700th start
