Rajasthan Royals youngster Vaibhav Sooryavanshi capped off a sensational Indian Premier League season by sweeping the tournament’s major individual awards, including the Most Valuable Player (MVP) prize.

The 15-year-old batting prodigy finished as the tournament’s highest run-scorer, earning the prestigious Orange Cap after scoring 776 runs in 16 innings at a stunning strike rate of 237.30.

Despite Rajasthan Royals falling short of the final, Sooryavanshi’s extraordinary performances throughout the season made him one of the biggest talking points of IPL 2026.

The left-hander also received the Emerging Player of the Tournament award, underlining his rapid rise as one of India’s brightest cricket talents.

Luxury SUV Among Rewards For Historic Campaign

Among the prizes handed to Sooryavanshi was a Tata Sierra SUV, awarded during the IPL final. However, the teenager will have to wait until he turns 18 before he can legally drive the vehicle in India.

His combined prize money from the awards exceeded £30,000.

Reflecting on his achievements, Sooryavanshi said he was proud of the recognition and eager to improve further.

“It’s a proud moment, it feels great and I’ll try to do even better next season,” he said.

The India Under-19 international ended the tournament in spectacular fashion, scoring 97 and 96 in his final two innings. His fearless approach saw him smash 72 sixes during the season, 29 more than any other player in the competition.

Sooryavanshi had already made history by becoming the youngest player to feature in the IPL when he debuted for Rajasthan Royals at the age of 14. The franchise secured his services at the previous auction for 1.1 crore rupees (£103,789), a decision that has already paid huge dividends.

While Rajasthan’s campaign ended with a defeat to Gujarat Titans in the second qualifier, Sooryavanshi’s performances ensured he emerged as one of the tournament’s biggest success stories.

The IPL title eventually went to Royal Challengers Bengaluru, who defeated Gujarat Titans by five wickets in the final at Ahmedabad, with Virat Kohli playing a key role in securing the franchise’s second consecutive championship.
