Diamond Harbour FC staged a stunning comeback to defeat Rajasthan United FC 5-2 in a high-scoring Indian Football League Championship clash.
Rajasthan United appeared firmly in control early in the game after Gerard Artigas struck twice inside the opening 27 minutes to hand his side a commanding advantage. However, the momentum shifted dramatically before halftime as Diamond Harbour began their fightback.
Kevin Ademola pulled one back before Hugo Diaz Rodriguez restored parity in stoppage time of the first half. Diamond Harbour carried that momentum into the second half and completely dominated proceedings thereafter. Ademola and Diaz both finished with braces, while Wahengbam Angousana Luwang also got on the scoresheet late in the game.
The emphatic victory strengthened Diamond Harbour’s grip at the top of the standings with 28 points from 12 matches, while Rajasthan United’s defeat officially ended their title hopes.
