Kolkata: East Bengal FC is set to play its home matches at the iconic Salt Lake Stadium (Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan) in the upcoming Indian Super League (ISL) 2025–26 season, marking a return to one of Indian football’s most historic and electrifying venues.
According to a report by Sportstar, the Red & Gold Brigade will once again call Salt Lake Stadium home — a ground that has witnessed countless derby battles, emotional fan moments, and high-stakes ISL nights.
The 2025–26 ISL season is scheduled to begin on February 14, with the league featuring 91 matches in total and running until May 17. Salt Lake Stadium will also serve as the home venue for Mohun Bagan Super Giant, setting the stage for multiple blockbuster fixtures in Kolkata.
One of the most anticipated clashes of the season — the Kolkata Derby between East Bengal and Mohun Bagan Super Giant — is scheduled for May 3, a match expected to draw massive crowds and nationwide attention.
The season opener will see Mohun Bagan take on Kerala Blasters, while East Bengal fans will be eagerly waiting for their club’s first home appearance under the Salt Lake floodlights.
A league source highlighted that venue selection was based on fan accessibility, stadium infrastructure, and broadcast readiness, ensuring the best possible matchday experience for players and supporters alike.
“Salt Lake Stadium remains the heartbeat of Kolkata football — it’s where rivalries ignite and history is written,” a league official said, as quoted in Sportstar.
For East Bengal, the return to Salt Lake Stadium represents more than just a venue decision — it is a chance to reignite home dominance, energize the passionate Red & Gold fanbase, and chase ISL glory on familiar turf.
With derby drama, packed stands, and high-voltage encounters on the horizon, Salt Lake Stadium is set to become one of the biggest theatres of ISL 2025–26 football.
