The South African women’s cricket team was tamed by England in Match number 4 of the ICC Women’s World Cup. The match at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati, saw England bowl South Africa out for 69 runs. England then chased down the 70-run target in a flash, doing so in 14.1 overs.

With this score of 69, South Africa posted their 2nd-lowest score in Women’s World Cup history. Meanwhile, they also registered their 3rd-lowest score in Women’s ODIs.

As per ESPNcricinfo, this was South Africa’s 11th score of below 100 in Women’s ODIs. This was also their 5th score of below 100 in the ICC Women’s World Cup.

Here we look at the lowest team totals of South Africa in Women’s ODIs.

51 vs England Women, March 2009

SA Women’s lowest ODI team total is against England back in 2009. This happened in the Women’s World Cup that year. The White Ferns got to 250/5 in 50 overs at Bowral with Sara McGlashan hitting 88*. Chasing 251 runs, South Africa were skittled out for a score of 51. Cri-zelda Brits scored 25 runs and was the only player to reach 10-plus runs. SA Women perished in just 22.1 overs.

63 vs Pakistan Women, May 2019

The 1st Women’s ODI of the 2019 series between South Africa and Pakistan saw the hosts get bowled out for 63 runs. Mignon du Preez and Chloe Tryon got to double digits as the rest of the pack fell. Sana Mir’s 4-fer did the job for Pakistan. The Women in Green then won the contest by 8 wickets. Pakistan scored 66/2 in 14.2 overs. Javeria Khan hit an unbeaten 34.

69 vs England Women, October 2025

Laura Wolvaardt’s South Africa were blown away by England in 20.3 overs. The famed top four whom SA Women are reliant upon, failed to get going and it was too much of a ask for the rest of the side. Wicketkeeper Sinalo Jafta scored 22 runs from 36 balls and was the only one to show fight. Linsey Smith did the damage with 3/7 from 4 overs. She bowled 2 maidens.

England Women got the job done in style, winning by 10 wickets.
