The worlds of UFC and freestyle wrestling collided in spectacular fashion as Real American Freestyle (RAF) put together one of its most high-profile cards of the season, with Khamzat Chimaev making his much-anticipated promotional debut.
The event, RAF 10, took place on June 13 in St. Louis and featured a fascinating mix of UFC stars, Olympic-level wrestlers and established freestyle competitors. Chimaev’s arrival was the headline attraction, but the card carried considerably more than just crossover appeal, with championship gold also on the line.
Chimaev Makes Instant Impact
Chimaev entered RAF after establishing himself as one of the most feared grapplers in mixed martial arts. After narrowing the gap to 6-2 in the second period, O’Toole produced an explosive final period, scoring eight unanswered points to complete a remarkable 10-6 comeback victory.
