India’s Trishul Chinnappa emerged as one of the standout performers at the IGPL Morocco Rising Stars tournament, with four Indian golfers finishing inside the top 10 after the latest round in El Jadida, Morocco.
Chinnappa produced a remarkable recovery during his round, firing five birdies in the last six holes to climb the leaderboard and strengthen India’s challenge at the prestigious event. His impressive finish highlighted the growing consistency of Indian golfers on the international circuit.
The tournament, being held at the scenic Mazagan Beach & Golf Resort, has witnessed a strong Indian presence, with several players delivering competitive performances against an international field. The event is co-sanctioned by the Indian Golf Premier League (IGPL) and the Asian Development Tour (ADT), offering valuable international exposure to emerging talents.
Apart from Chinnappa, other Indian golfers also featured prominently in the top 10 standings, underlining the depth of talent currently emerging from the Indian golfing circuit. The Morocco Rising Stars event carries a prize purse of USD 160,000 and marks the first time the IGPL has staged an event in Morocco.
The tournament forms part of a major three-week golfing swing in Morocco, which will also include the IGPL Bharath Classic and the International Series Morocco. Indian golfers such as Pukhraj Singh Gill, Karandeep Kochhar, Rashid Khan, Sachin Baisoya, Veer Ganapathy and Aman Raj are among the leading names competing during the North African leg.
The impressive performances by Indian players continue to reflect the growing impact of the IGPL in providing domestic golfers with global exposure and stronger competition opportunities. Recent successes by Indian golfers on international tours have further boosted confidence within the country’s golfing ecosystem.
