Bhatia, Theegala Lead Indian-American Charge at Colonial Golf Tournament

Indian-American golfers Akshay Bhatia and Sahith Theegala are set to spearhead the challenge at the prestigious Colonial tournament this week, highlighting the growing influence of players of Indian origin on the PGA Tour.

The tournament at the famed Colonial Country Club has drawn attention for the strong representation of Indian-American talent, with both Bhatia and Theegala entering the competition in solid form. Their rise continues to reflect the increasing global footprint of Indian-origin golfers in elite international events.

Bhatia, known for his aggressive shot-making and calm temperament under pressure, has enjoyed a breakthrough period on the PGA Tour. The young left-hander has rapidly built a reputation as one of golf’s emerging stars with impressive performances against some of the world’s best players.

Meanwhile, Theegala remains one of the most popular and consistent performers on the tour. His creative play, fearless approach and strong fan following have made him a standout figure in American golf. Theegala has repeatedly delivered strong finishes in recent seasons and continues to push for major titles.

The Colonial event, one of the iconic stops on the PGA Tour calendar, presents another opportunity for the duo to strengthen their standings and continue their impressive journeys in professional golf.

The growing success of Indian-American golfers has also inspired a younger generation of players with South Asian roots to pursue the sport at competitive levels, helping diversify golf’s global talent pool.

With expectations rising around both Bhatia and Theegala, fans will closely watch whether either golfer can make a strong title run at Colonial this week.
