Lionel Messi once again proved why he remains the heartbeat of Inter Miami, producing a match-winning performance as they defeated FC Cincinnati 5–3 in a high-octane MLS clash.
It was a night full of twists, goals, and momentum swings — but in the end, Messi’s brilliance made the difference.
The Argentine superstar opened the scoring in the 24th minute after capitalising on a defensive error inside the box. Cincinnati responded strongly, with Kevin Denkey equalising from the spot before Pavel Bucha put the hosts ahead early in the second half.
But Miami refused to back down.
Messi struck again in the 55th minute, finishing a flowing team move to level the score at 2–2. The game continued to swing wildly as Evander restored Cincinnati’s lead, making it 3–2.
From there, Inter Miami turned on the pressure.
Substitute Mateo Silvetti brought Miami back into the contest before Germán Berterame put them ahead for the first time in the 84th minute. Messi then put the final stamp on the match in the 89th minute — forcing an own goal after a dangerous late move.
With this result, Inter Miami strengthened their position near the top of the standings, while Messi continued his sensational form with yet another multi-goal performance.
