The International School Sports Organisation (ISSO) has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the DP World Professional Golf Tour of India (DP World PGTI) to promote golf across India’s international school ecosystem. The agreement was signed in New Delhi with the aim of creating structured pathways for young golfers.
Under the partnership, students from ISSO-affiliated schools will gain access to grassroots golf programmes, talent identification initiatives, professional coaching support, and exposure to competitive golfing standards. The collaboration is expected to strengthen junior golf development and introduce more students to the sport at an early stage.
Focus on Grassroots and Skill Development
As part of the initiative, DP World PGTI will provide technical expertise, certified coaches, workshops on golf fundamentals and etiquette, along with interactions with professional golfers. The programme aims to nurture discipline, focus, integrity, and long-term sporting development among students.
ISSO Director Aakanksha Thapak said the organisation is committed to building meaningful sporting ecosystems for students and believes golf can play a key role in character-building beyond competition. Co-Director Gaurav Dixit added that the partnership would help provide quality exposure and structured opportunities for young athletes interested in the sport.
Indian Golf Continues to Expand
The agreement comes during a period of growing investment in Indian golf. DP World recently strengthened its association with Indian golf through a landmark partnership with PGTI aimed at improving infrastructure, international pathways, and grassroots development.
The latest ISSO-PGTI collaboration is expected to widen golf’s reach among school students and help identify future talent capable of competing at national and international levels.
