Emma Raducanu will return to competitive action at the Strasbourg Open after receiving a wildcard entry ahead of the French Open later this month.
The British number one has not played since suffering a third-round defeat to Amanda Anisimova at Indian Wells on 8 March.
Raducanu withdrew from the Italian Open earlier this month because of illness and has been sidelined for more than two months due to a post-viral infection.
The clay-court tournament in Strasbourg begins on Sunday and will serve as crucial preparation for the French Open, which starts on 24 May in Paris.
Raducanu Likely To Miss Seeded Spot At Roland Garros
The 2021 US Open champion is currently ranked world number 30 but is expected to slip down the rankings after missing recent tournaments in Rome and Paris.
That drop means Raducanu is likely to miss out on being seeded at Roland Garros.
Last year, the 23-year-old also received a wildcard for the Strasbourg event and impressed by defeating top-20 player Daria Kasatkina before losing to Danielle Collins in the next round.
Raducanu has won seven of her 14 matches so far this season. Four of those victories came during her run to the final of the Transylvania Open in February following an early exit at the Australian Open.
Although she spoke to the media shortly before withdrawing from the Italian Open, Raducanu later said she only wanted to return to competition once she felt “100% ready”.
