Real Madrid have been dealt a massive setback ahead of the season-defining El Clasico against Barcelona, with midfielder Federico Valverde ruled out due to a head injury.
The Spanish giants confirmed that the Uruguay international has been diagnosed with cranioencephalic trauma and will require complete rest for around 10 to 14 days under medical supervision.
Injury Reportedly Followed Training Ground Incident
According to multiple reports from Spanish and international media outlets, the injury occurred after an altercation involving teammate Aurélien Tchouaméni during a training session at Valdebebas. Valverde was reportedly taken to hospital following the incident before later being discharged.
While Real Madrid have initiated internal disciplinary proceedings, Valverde later denied reports of a physical fight, claiming he accidentally hit a table during the heated exchange.
