HORSENS, DENMARK — In a commanding display at the BWF Uber Cup 2026 quarter-final, Indonesia’s women’s badminton team secured a 3-1 victory over hosts Denmark on Thursday night to book their place in the semifinals at Forum Horsens.

From the first shuttlecock, Indonesia set the tone against a vocal Danish crowd. Putri Kusuma Wardani opened the tie in impressive fashion, dominating Line Christophersen with a convincing 21-12, 21-15 win to put Indonesia ahead 1-0.

Denmark responded in the second encounter as Line Højmark Kjaersfeldt kept her cool to beat Ni Kadek Dhinda Amartya Pratiwi 21-15, 21-16, narrowing the deficit to 1-1 and injecting hope into the home side.

However, it was Indonesia’s depth and composure that proved decisive in the remaining matches. The Indonesian pair in women’s doubles exerted early pressure before sealing a crucial point that restored Indonesia’s lead. With the score poised at 2-1, all eyes turned to the decisive third singles.

In the final singles match of the evening, Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo rose to the occasion against Amalie Schulz, executing a measured and strategic performance to win 21-13, 21-18 and secure the tie for Indonesia. “I am grateful that our strategies with the coach went smoothly today,” Wardoyo said after the match, reflecting on her straight-sets victory.

With this result, Indonesia not only eliminated the host nation but also advanced to the Uber Cup 2026 semifinals, where they will face another formidable opponent with ambitions of reaching the final.
