Spain : The 2026 Karate One Series A in A Coruña wrapped up on Sunday after three days of intense competition, bringing together a strong international field of senior karate athletes at the Palacio de los Deportes in Ciudad Deportiva de Riazor.
A Truly Global Event
The World Karate Federation’s Series A stop in A Coruña delivered high-level competition across kata and kumite divisions, reflecting the global depth and growth of sport karate. The event, held from 24–26 April, was part of the WKF’s official Calendar and open to competitors from all member federations under full WKF rules.
Athletes competed in a full programme of individual kata, male and female kumite weight divisions, and final medal ceremonies each evening. The structured schedule ensured a rigorous progression from pools and repechage rounds on Friday and Saturday to finals on Sunday.
Competition Highlights
Across multiple tatami mats, athletes showcased technical precision and competitive spirit. While full official results are pending release on the WKF Sportdata platform, standout performances were evident throughout the weekend — with many matches decided by narrow margins and tactical mastery.

The next Series A legs are scheduled later in 2026 in Guadalajara, Mexico, and Salzburg, Austria.
