Jon Rahm delivered a dominant performance to win the LIV Golf Mexico City title, even as uncertainty continues to surround the future of the LIV Golf League.
Dominant finish in final round
Rahm fired a stunning seven-under 64 in the final round to finish at 21-under par, securing a comfortable six-shot victory. Fellow Spaniards David Puig and Josele Ballester completed the podium.
The win also marked Rahm’s success in the team category with Legion XIII, adding to an impressive week.
Tour future under cloud
The result comes amid reports that the Public Investment Fund could withdraw its financial backing from LIV Golf.
However, chief executive Scott O’Neil dismissed the speculation, stating that the tour will continue “uninterrupted” and confirming a return to Mexico next year.
DeChambeau withdraws early
Two-time winner Bryson DeChambeau pulled out before the final round due to a wrist injury, clearing the path for Rahm’s dominant charge.
Rahm’s victory comes just a week after a disappointing outing at The Masters, highlighting a strong comeback.
Uncertain road ahead
Since its launch in 2022, LIV Golf has shaken the sport by attracting top names away from the PGA Tour. Ongoing merger talks have yet to produce a final agreement, leaving the long-term future of the tour unclear.
