Ruben Loftus-Cheek was carried off on a stretcher after suffering a head injury during AC Milan’s 1-0 Serie A defeat by Parma at the San Siro.
The England midfielder collided with Parma goalkeeper Edoardo Corvi while challenging for a cross early in the match. Medical staff fitted a brace to stabilise his head and neck before taking him from the field.
Jaw injury reported
Italian broadcaster Sky Italia reported that Loftus-Cheek sustained a broken jaw and several damaged teeth. AC Milan have yet to confirm the full extent of the injury.
A lengthy absence could impact his hopes of being included in England’s squad for the World Cup, which begins in June.
World Cup concern for England
Loftus-Cheek recently earned his first England cap in seven years when he appeared as a substitute against Wales in October after being recalled by manager Thomas Tuchel.
The 28-year-old has made 71 appearances for AC Milan since joining from Chelsea in 2023.
Milan remain second in Serie A, 10 points behind leaders Inter Milan, who extended their winning streak with victory over Lecce. Parma’s winner, scored by Mariano Troilo in the 80th minute, lifted them to 12th in the table.
