Rain and Drama in Vegas
Friday night qualifying for the Las Vegas Grand Prix saw championship contenders battle treacherous wet conditions on the iconic Strip. Lando Norris of McLaren mastered the slippery track to secure pole position, edging out Red Bull’s Max Verstappen.
Verstappen Bumped at the Line
Verstappen briefly led the session, having won the inaugural Vegas GP in 2023 and secured his fourth consecutive world title last year. However, Norris’s final run pushed the reigning champion down to second place, adding drama to the title fight.
Norris on the Conditions
“Boy it was stressful as hell,” Norris admitted. “It was pretty nasty, probably some of the worst conditions, if not the worst. It was so slippery, so difficult.” The pole gives the McLaren driver a key advantage as the championship battle intensifies.
