The Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) announced that this season’s playoffs and final will be held at the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium in Delhi. The Delhi leg, which marks the final phase of the league stage, begins on October 11.
Delhi to Host Final Stages of PKL 12
Following an exciting Chennai leg, the remaining fixtures of PKL Season 12 will take place in the national capital from October 11 to 23. The knockout rounds will then begin on October 25, leading up to the grand finale on October 31 at the same venue.
This will make Delhi the centre of kabaddi action for three consecutive weeks, with both league and knockout matches taking place at the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium.
Revamped Playoffs Format Introduced
PKL 12 has introduced a new Play-ins system to make the season more competitive. Under the revised format, the top eight teams will now qualify for the knockout stage instead of six.
Teams ranked 5th to 8th will face off in Play-in matches, with the winners progressing to the Eliminators. The 3rd and 4th placed teams will compete in a Mini-Qualifier, while the top two will clash in Qualifier 1. The winner of Qualifier 1 goes straight to the final, while the loser gets another chance in Qualifier 2.
This revamped format adds more drama and ensures that every league game carries extra significance.
