Puneri Paltan have once again proved their popularity among kabaddi fans after being voted the “Fan’s Choice Favourite Champions” from the last four seasons of the Pro Kabaddi League.
The recognition comes as another major milestone for the Pune-based franchise, whose dominant performances during PKL Season 10 transformed them into one of the most admired teams in league history.
The official Pro Kabaddi League video celebrated Puneri Paltan’s memorable title-winning journey, highlighting the team’s consistency, fearless style of play and unforgettable moments throughout the season.
A Historic Season For Puneri Paltan
Season 10 marked a breakthrough campaign for Puneri Paltan as they clinched their maiden PKL title after years of rebuilding and developing young talent.
Led by captain Aslam Inamdar, the team defeated Haryana Steelers 28-25 in a thrilling final to finally lift the trophy. Raider Pankaj Mohite starred in the summit clash with nine crucial points.
Puneri Paltan’s campaign was built on balance and teamwork rather than relying on one superstar. Their defensive unit, led by Iranian sensation Mohammadreza Chiyaneh and Abinesh Nadarajan, became one of the strongest in PKL history.
The side also impressed statistically, recording one of the most dominant seasons ever seen in the competition. ESPN described them as potentially the greatest PKL team ever after they lost only two matches all season and finished with a record score difference.
Fans Continue To Celebrate The Champions
Supporters have continued to praise Puneri Paltan’s unforgettable campaign even years later. On Reddit, many fans described the title victory as “thoroughly deserved” and hailed the squad’s teamwork, defence and tactical discipline.
The franchise’s popularity has also been reflected in several fan-voted PKL awards. Aslam Inamdar was voted favourite captain, while Gaurav Khatri earned recognition as fans’ favourite right-corner defender from Season 10.
Puneri Paltan’s rise from early-season strugglers to league champions has become one of the most admired success stories in kabaddi, with many supporters calling them a model franchise for youth development and long-term planning.
