Top scorers in La Liga 2025/26 after 8 matchdays: Check out

The La Liga 2025/26 season is once again shaping up to be a two-way race for the title. Biggies Real Madrid and FC Barcelona occupy the top two places after 8 matchdays this season. Two points separate them with Villarreal and Real Betis completing the top 4. Both Villarreal and Betis have given solid impressions early on this season.

In terms of individual scorers, Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappe has looked lethal in front of goal. He will be vying for a 2nd successive Pichichi award. Notably, Mbappe was amongst the goals in Real’s win over Villarreal last weekend.

Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez has impressed alongside Etta Eyong of Levante and Real’s Vinicius Junior. All three players own 5-plus goals. Barcelona duo Ferran Torres and Robert Lewandowski aren’t far behind.

With the international break on, the La liga will resume on Friday, October 17. Here we present the top scorers in la Liga 2025/26 after 8 matchdays.

Kylian Mbappe – 9 goals and 2 assists

Real Madrid ace Mbappe has scored 9 goals and made 2 assists from 8 La Liga games this season. The Frenchman has managed 27 shots (excluding blocks) with 15 on target, as per Squawka Comparison Matrix. Out of his nine goals, 2 have been penalties. Mbappe has created 20 chances and owns 64 touches in the opposition box.

Julian Alvarez – 6 goals and 1 assist

Former Manchester City forward Alvarez has been amongst the goals this season. The Atletico man has 6 goals and one assist from 8 outings in La Liga. Out of his 16 shots (excluding blocks), 11 have been on target. Two of his goals have been from the penalty spot. He has created 14 chances and owns 30 touches in the opposition box.

Vinicius Junior – 5 goals and 4 assists

Real Madrid ace Vinicius has been involved in 9 goals this season (G5 A4). The elite Brazilian winger has clocked owns 18 shots (excluding blocks) with 12 of them being on target. He has scored one penalty. Vinicius has created 19 chances and owns a staggering 76 touches in the opposition box.

Etta Eyong – 5 goals and 3 assists

Eyong has been involved in 8 goals this season from 8 matches. Apart from 5 goals, he has made three assists. He started the season with Villarreal, scoring against Oviedo on Matchday 1. In his next two outings for the club, he made an assist each. Eyong then switched to Levante and scored on debut versus Real Betis in a 2-2 draw. Thereafter, he scored against Girona and made an assist. He scored again versus Real Madrid and then bagged another on Matchday 8 against Oviedo.
