Bhubaneswar: Paris Saint-Germain will make their debut in an Intercontinental Cup final on 17 December 2025 in Doha, following confirmation from FIFA. Their opponent will be decided earlier, on 13 December, in a playoff known as the Challenger Cup.
Under the new format relaunched recently, the Intercontinental Cup is a 32-team competition that brings together continental champions. In this edition, PSG will face one of the tournament’s winners, while Egypt’s Pyramids, the African champions, are already slated to play in the final playoff stage.
Historically, from 1960 to 2004, the Intercontinental Cup was contested between Europe’s and South America’s champions. The competition evolved into the Club World Cup format after 2004 before being reimagined this year.
