The final Grand Slam event of this year – US Open – will start from August 24 onwards.
All eyes will be on Jannik Sinner, who was forced off injured in the final of the Cincinnati Open last week against Carlos Alcaraz. Both Sinner and Alcaraz are the hot favourites to bag the 2025 US Open title. Sinner is the defending champion and has also been part of every Grand Slam final this year, winning two and losing one. Alcaraz, fresh from winning the Cincinnati Open, is chasing his 2nd US Open title and a 2nd Grand Slam honour of this season.
Meanwhile, 24-time Grand Slam winner, Novak Djokovic, is a sheer contender as well. The veteran has reached the semis of all three Grand Slam events this season. He is chasing an elusive 25th Slam title.
Here we present the three players to watch out for in men’s singles at 2025 US Open.
Jannik Sinner: Since making his debut in 2019, Sinner owns an 81-19 win-loss record at Grand Slams. He recorded his 100th Grand Slam match in the final of 2025 Wimbledon. The Italian is a four-time Grand Slam winner and a one-time runner-up. He is also a two-time semi-finalist at Slam events. Sinner is 17-5 at this event. He won the title here in 2024.
Carlos Alcaraz: Since making his debut in 2021, Alcaraz owns a 77-13 win-loss record at Grand Slams. The Spaniard is a five-time Grand Slam winner and a one-time runner-up. He is also a two-time semi-finalist at Slam events. Alcaraz is 17-3 at the US Open. He won the title here in 2022 and was a semi-finalist in 2023. By winning the Cincinnati Open, Alcaraz owns 13 Big Titles. Apart from 5 Slams, he has 8 ATP 1000 titles.
Novak Djokovic: The Serbian is a four-time winner of the event and a six-time runner-up. He is chasing an 11th final and a fifth trophy here. He last won a Slam title here in 2023. Djokovic is 392-54 at Grand Slams and 90-14 at the US Open. He is 15-3 at Slams this year.
