From Deficit to Dominance: McNulty’s Epic Final Stage Seals Tour of Poland Crown

Wieliczka, Poland – American cyclist Brandon McNulty (Team UAE) secured the overall victory at the Tour of Poland on Sunday, delivering a commanding performance in the closing individual time trial. The two-time US time trial champion completed the hilly 12.5 km course around the Wieliczka salt mine 12 seconds faster than Italy’s Lorenzo Milesi (Movistar).

Overcoming Deficit for Maiden WorldTour GC Title

McNulty, who rides for Tadej Pogacar’s formidable Team UAE, showcased his time trial prowess to overturn a seven-second deficit to Saturday’s overall leader, Monegasque rider Victor Langellotti (Ineos Grenadiers). Langellotti, who had edged McNulty on the final climb of the penultimate stage to take the yellow jersey, finished 46 seconds behind McNulty in the time trial, ultimately dropping to fifth place in the final general classification.

This victory marks McNulty’s first career WorldTour-level general classification win, succeeding Jonas Vingegaard, who won the seven-day race last year.

Final Podium and Notable Performances

The final podium saw another Italian, Antonio Tiberi (Bahrain Victorious), climb to second place overall after finishing fourth in Sunday’s time trial. Tiberi ended 29 seconds behind McNulty in the general classification. Italian Matteo Sobrero (Red Bull–Bora–Hansgrohe), who finished third in the time trial, secured third place overall, 37 seconds off the winner.

The Tour of Poland, which ran from August 4-10, 2025, consisted of seven stages covering a total distance of 1,075.9 km. McNulty’s victory was not only a personal triumph but also contributed to Team UAE’s success, as they also won the team classification.
