Michael Hollick Claims Fourth Sunshine Tour Title at FNB Eswatini Challenge

Ezulwini, Eswatini – South African golfer Michael Hollick secured his fourth career victory on the Sunshine Tour, winning the FNB Eswatini Challenge by two strokes at the Ezulwini Golf & Country Club on Saturday. Hollick, who led going into the final round, carded a steady 68 to finish the tournament at 16-under-par.

Commanding Performance and Key Strategies

Hollick’s win marks a continuation of his strong form, as he had also ended the previous Sunshine Tour season with a victory in the Courier Guy DNi Tour Championship. In his final round at Ezulwini, he started brightly with consecutive birdies on his opening two holes. He added two more birdies on the front nine and an eagle early on the back nine, maintaining his lead despite a double bogey on the par-three 14th hole.

A crucial element of Hollick’s success throughout the week was his exceptional play on the par-five holes, which he tackled in an impressive 11-under-par for the tournament.

Caddie Also Celebrated

The victory was also a special moment for Hollick’s caddie, Clavie Taderera, who was recognized at the prizegiving ceremony and presented with a winning Sunshine Tour caddie medal, underscoring the team effort behind the win.

Final Standings

Sharing second place at 14-under-par were the South African duo of Pieter Moolman (who shot a final round 69) and Herman Loubser (who closed with an excellent 64).

Paul Boshoff (66) and Germany’s Allen John (70) tied for fourth place, finishing at 13-under-par.
