Bhubaneswar : The stage is set for a thrilling display of football talent as 33 districts from across Odisha gear up to compete in the 64th Senior Men Inter District Football Championship for the Sahani Cup 2025. Organized by the Football Association of Odisha (FAO) in collaboration with the Sports and Youth Services Department, Government of Odisha, and various District Athletic Associations, the prestigious tournament will kick off on July 16, 2025.
This year’s championship will feature a zonal format, with matches being hosted in four zones: Keonjhar, Kendrapada, Boudh, and Berhampur. Each zone will witness intense competition as district teams battle for a place in the final stages of the tournament.
The stakes are high, with the champion team set to receive a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, while the runners-up will be awarded Rs 50,000. The Sahani Cup, known for its rich legacy, continues to serve as a platform for identifying and nurturing football talent at the grassroots level in Odisha.
A preparatory meeting has already been held to ensure the smooth conduct of the event, with organizers expressing confidence in the arrangements. As the tournament approaches, excitement is building among players and fans alike, all eager to see which district will claim the coveted Sahani Cup this year.
