R. Praggnanandhaa has officially joined Team Liquid, a Dutch esports organization, just a week before the Esports World Cup kicks off right here in Riyadh. This is a big deal, especially since online chess is making its debut at the World Cup this year.
He’s now the third member of a powerhouse team that includes none other than World No. 1 Magnus Carlsen and four-time U.S. Champion Fabiano Caruana. What incredible company for the Indian Grandmaster!
This announcement comes hot on the heels of Praggnanandhaa’s win at the 2nd UzChess Cup. He’s now the third Indian player with a strong chance to secure a spot in the World Cup finals. Arjun Erigaisi (Generation Gaming) has already confirmed his spot, while Nihal Sarin and Aravindh Chithambaram from Indian esports organization S8UL will be aiming to seal their berths in the Last Chance Qualifiers, alongside Praggnanandhaa.
