ISSF Munich World Cup: Manu Bhaker finishes sixth in women鈥檚 25m pistol final
Double Olympic medallist Manu Bhaker shot a strong 588 to qualify for the finals in the 25m sports pistol event at the Shooting World Cup in Munich on Wednesday, but narrowly missed out on a podium finish, ending in sixth place. She fell just one point short of the eventual bronze medallist, Korea鈥檚 Yang Jiin.
China鈥檚 Sun Yujie continued her golden streak, claiming her third consecutive World Cup title by defeating Korea鈥檚 Oh Yejin 38-36 in the final. The 20-year-old had already clinched gold in Buenos Aires and Lima earlier this season.
In the men鈥檚 50m rifle 3-position event, Olympian Chain Singh impressed in qualification with a score of 592 but had to settle for seventh in the final. Norway鈥檚 Jon-Hermann Hegg secured the gold, helping his team rise to second in the overall medals tally, just behind China, who leads with three golds.
Earlier on Tuesday, Varun Tomar also made it to the finals of the men鈥檚 air pistol event but finished sixth. So far, India鈥檚 only medal at the event remains the bronze won by Elavenil Valarivan in the women鈥檚 air rifle.
