Scottie Scheffler is heading into next week’s US Open at Oakmont as the overwhelming favorite, showcasing incredible form with three wins in his last four starts. The 28-year-old American recently claimed his third major title at the PGA Championship at Quail Hollow, adding to his Masters victories in 2022 and 2024.
His recent dominance includes successfully defending his title at the PGA Memorial tournament last week, extending his perfect record to nine wins when holding a 54-hole lead. Before that, he won the Byron Nelson by tying the PGA Tour’s lowest 72-hole stroke total in history.
After a stellar nine-win season last year, which included a gold medal at the Paris Olympics, and recovering from a right-hand injury that sidelined him early this season, Scheffler is playing at his peak. He has secured significant victories by large margins: eight strokes at the Byron Nelson, five at the PGA Championship (his biggest major win margin), and four at the Memorial.
