PKL 2025 Auction Breaks Records with Big Spends on Star Players

The Pro Kabaddi League 2025 player auction, held in Mumbai on May 31 and June 1, saw all 12 teams spending big to sign top talent. For the first time ever, *ten players were sold for over ₹1 crore* in a single auction—making it the most high-profile PKL auction so far.

Top 5 Most Expensive Players at the PKL 12 Auction:

1. Mohammadreza Shadloui Chiyaneh – ₹2.23 Cr – Gujarat Giants

Iran’s Mohammadreza Shadloui, known for his flashy style and power-packed performances, became the most expensive player in PKL history. Gujarat Giants signed the 23-year-old defender for ₹2.23 crore.
Shadloui has 354 tackle points in just four seasons. He played a key role in Puneri Paltan and Haryana Steelers’ title wins in the last two seasons, including 82 tackle points and 139 overall points in PKL 11.

2. Devank Dalal – ₹2.205 Cr – Bengal Warriorz

Devank, a 22-year-old raider from Rohtak, had a breakout season last year. He became the first raider ever to score **300 raid points in a single season.
Picked up by Bengal Warriorz for ₹2.205 crore, Devank was a big reason for Patna Pirates’ journey to the final. He scored 301 raid points, averaging 12.04 points per game with 18 Super 10s in 25 matches.

3. Ashu Malik – ₹1.90 Cr – Dabang Delhi (FBM: 2 Seasons)

Ashu Malik has been one of the most consistent raiders in recent seasons. The 23-year-old led Dabang Delhi from the front and the team used their Final Bid Match (FBM) card to retain him for two seasons.
With 730 raid points and an average of 8.02 points per match, Ashu’s solid performance and leadership made him a hot pick in the auction.

4. Ankit Jaglan – ₹1.573 Cr – Patna Pirates (FBM: 1 Season)

All-rounder Ankit Jaglan drew interest from multiple teams including Puneri Paltan and Jaipur Pink Panthers. Patna Pirates finally used their FBM card to bring him back for one season, paying ₹1.573 crore for his services.

5. Arjun Deshwal – ₹1.405 Cr – Tamil Thalaivas

Known as the ‘Raid Machine’, Arjun Deshwal is famous for his consistent raiding. Tamil Thalaivas bought him for ₹1.405 crore.
The 25-year-old was the MVP in Season 9 and has 1174 raid points from 114 matches. Even after scoring 230 points at an average of 9.86 last season, his former team Jaipur Pink Panthers released him before the auction—a move that surprised many.
