“Hungry to Win, Happy at Home: Carlos Alcaraz on Why Family Time Fuels His Tennis Success”

Bhubaneswar : Carlos Alcaraz, the world No. 2 and one of tennis’s brightest young stars, has revealed that his biggest secret to staying sharp on the court lies far away from the stadium lights — at home with his family.

While Alcaraz thrives in the heat of competition, he admits that the relentless travel and high demands of the professional tennis schedule can be mentally and physically exhausting. That’s why, whenever his tournament commitments allow, he makes it a priority to return to El Palmar, Murcia — the small Spanish hometown where he still lives with his parents and siblings.

“I love stepping onto the court, but being on tour for weeks can be tough,” Alcaraz shared. “Spending time with family and friends helps me recharge and come back hungry to win.”

For Alcaraz, home is more than just a place to rest — it’s a source of grounding. His father and older brother often accompany him to tournaments, with his brother even serving as his hitting partner. But it’s the moments away from tennis that he treasures most: long, relaxed days at home, unwinding after the high-pressure grind of events like Wimbledon or Roland Garros.

He values coming home regardless of his results — win or lose, the warmth of loved ones keeps him balanced. According to Alcaraz, this balance is what allows him to maintain his competitive edge over a grueling season.

As he continues to chase more titles and rise through the tennis ranks, one thing remains certain: Carlos Alcaraz is not just hungry for trophies — he’s hungry for the moments that keep his passion alive, both on and off the court.
