India to Take on England and New Zealand in Key Warm-Up Matches Ahead of ICC Women’s World Cup 2025

India to Take on England and New Zealand in Key Warm-Up Matches Ahead of ICC Women’s World Cup 2025

Bhubaneswar : The ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 warm-up schedule has been officially announced, featuring nine matches from September 25 to 28, just ahead of the main tournament which starts on September 30. The warm-up games will be held across four venues: M. Chinnaswamy Stadium and BCCI Centre of Excellence 1 Ground in Bengaluru, India, and R. Premadasa Stadium and Colombo Cricket Club Ground in Colombo, Sri Lanka. All matches are scheduled as day-night games starting at 3 PM IST.

Matches and Participating Teams

Eight qualified teams will each play two warm-up matches, with the exception of defending champions Australia, who will play only one. In addition to the main squads, India ‘A’ and Sri Lanka ‘A’ teams have also been included to provide more opportunities for match practice. India ‘A’ is set to play one match, while Sri Lanka ‘A’ participates in two.

India’s Fixtures

India kicks off their warm-up campaign by facing England on September 25 at the BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground in Bengaluru. Their second match is against New Zealand on September 27 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, also in Bengaluru.

 Opening Day Fixtures (September 25)

India vs England at BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground, Bengaluru

South Africa vs New Zealand at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru

Sri Lanka vs Pakistan at Colombo Cricket Club Ground, Colombo

Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka ‘A’ at R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo

Other Major Warm-Up Games

Australia begins their campaign against England on September 27 in their only warm-up fixture.

India ‘A’ and Sri Lanka ‘A’ feature on September 28—South Africa plays India ‘A’; Pakistan faces Sri Lanka ‘A’.

These matches are designed to help teams adjust to the playing conditions in both host countries and to finalize their combinations before the main event begins.
