Here’s All You Need To Know About Wimbledon Singles Final Scheduled Over The Weekend

Wimbledon: The final weekend of Wimbledon is upon us.  We have two star-studded finals to look forward to. It’s Jannik Sinner Vs Alcaraz on Sunday (July 13) and Iga Swiatek Vs Amanda Anisimova on Saturday (July 12).

Wimbledon Singles Women Final

Iga Swiatek will play in her first-ever final at the All England Club, against the surprise package of this year’s Championships Amanda Anisimova, who stunned top seed Aryna Sabalenka in her semi-final. Both the players are making comeback at the women’s singles final at Wimbledon in their own idiosyncratic way.

Swiatek, the former world No.1 and winner of five Grand Slam titles has been facing a difficult period (by her standards) ever since she tested positive for a banned substance in August. She has struggled with form ever since. She has not won a title since she won a third consecutive French Open crown last year.

“I’m enjoying this new feeling of being comfortable on grass. I’m kind of thinking about it a bit more. I’m enjoying it,” she said after cruising past Belinda Bencic with a 6-2, 6-0 win in the semi-final on Friday.

She will take on Anisimova, who returned to the tour after taking a mental health break. The American had never reached the final of a Slam. But she slowly made her way through the draw. She defeated world No.1 Aryna Sabalenka in a tough semi-final.

Men’s Finals: Sinner And Alcaraz Set For Epic Showdown

World No. 1 Jannik Sinner overpowered Novak Djokovic 6‑3, 6‑3, 6‑4 to reach his first Wimbledon final. This was Sinner’s fifth consecutive win over Djokovic, a feat previously achieved only by Rafael Nadal in the past 16 years. Carlos Alcaraz overcame Taylor Fritz in a grueling battle, winning 6‑4, 5‑7, 6‑3, 7‑6(6). The match was played under scorching conditions exceeding 30°C, but Alcaraz held firm to reach his third straight Wimbledon final.

‘Battle of new titans’

Jannik Sinner’s dominance over Djokovic signals a changing of the guard. His final clash with Alcaraz promises to be a battle between the new titans of tennis.

New Champion Guaranteed In Women’s Draw
With neither Swiatek nor Anisimova having won Wimbledon before, this year will crown a new women’s champion for the second consecutive year.
