MotoGP Standings Tighten After Motegi Sprint
The MotoGP standings have tightened significantly after Marc Marquez claimed victory in Saturday’s Sprint at the Mobility Resort Motegi. Marquez earned 12 points, while Jorge Martin finished third and collected seven points after being penalised for exceeding track limits on the final lap. Martin now leads Marquez by just seven points, 313 to 306.
Marc Marquez Wins, Martin Loses Ground
Marquez quickly overturned Martin’s pole advantage and controlled the 12-lap Sprint to take the win. Martin initially crossed the line second but was dropped to third after the post-race penalty. Rookie Diogo Moreira was promoted to second, securing his maiden MotoGP podium.
