Chen Yujie Caps Golden Asian Games Debut With Relay Triumph
Chen Yujie Asian Games 2026 Campaign Ends in Gold
China鈥檚 Chen Yujie completed a remarkable Asian Games debut by winning her third medal at Aichi-Nagoya 2026. The 17-year-old sprinter helped China retain the women鈥檚 4x100m relay title on September 28, adding another gold to the individual 100m title she won earlier in the competition.
The Chinese quartet of Liang Xiaojing, Liu Guoyi, Liu Xiajun and Chen Yujie clocked 42.96 seconds to take gold. Thailand finished second in 43.51, while Japan claimed bronze in 43.52.
Chen Yujie Wins 100m Gold and 200m Silver
Chen had already announced herself as one of the breakout stars of the athletics programme. She won the women鈥檚 100m gold in 11.06 seconds, improving her Asian U20 record and breaking the Asian Games record in the process.
She then added silver in the 200m, giving her three medals before the relay final. Her performance has made the teenager one of the standout young athletes of the Nagoya Games.
China Completes 4x100m Relay Double
Chen鈥檚 relay triumph also formed part of a memorable day for Chinese sprinting. China won both 4x100m relay titles, with the men鈥檚 quartet of Chen Jinfeng, Zeng Keli, Wang Shengjie and Xie Zhenye taking gold in 38.17 seconds.
Chen鈥檚 rapid rise has attracted attention because of her age, but the teenager has insisted that she does not feel overwhelmed by expectations. Her three-medal haul has instead given China another promising name to watch in the next generation of Asian sprinting.
