Bengaluru misses out despite initial plans
Bengaluru, which was originally slated to host the final at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, has lost the opportunity following a decision by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
The move comes as a surprise, especially since Royal Challengers Bengaluru are the defending champions and the city was expected to stage the summit clash.
Logistical and operational factors behind decision
The shift in venue has been attributed to operational and logistical considerations, including infrastructure and crowd management concerns.
Additionally, Ahmedabad’s larger capacity and proven track record in hosting high-profile events played a key role in influencing the decision.
Playoff matches spread across venues
As part of the revised playoff schedule, matches will be distributed across multiple venues. Dharamsala is set to host Qualifier 1, while other playoff games will take place in New Chandigarh before the tournament concludes in Ahmedabad.
