Royals post competitive total despite early setbacks
Rajasthan Royals (RR) overcame a shaky start to post a fighting total of 159/6 in their 20 overs against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Ekana Stadium. Early strikes from LSG bowlers, including key wickets in the powerplay, left RR under pressure.
However, a composed knock from Ravindra Jadeja steadied the innings, guiding the team past the 150-mark with a crucial late flourish. Contributions from the middle order ensured RR recovered well after losing wickets in clusters.
LSG collapse derails chase early
Chasing 160, Lucknow Super Giants suffered a disastrous start as their top order crumbled under pressure. Captain Rishabh Pant was dismissed for a duck, continuing his poor run of form this season.
The early breakthroughs put LSG on the back foot, and despite some resistance from the middle order, the team never recovered from the initial collapse. Regular wickets halted any momentum in the chase.
Rajasthan bowlers dominate proceedings
RR bowlers delivered a disciplined performance, maintaining tight lines and striking at regular intervals. Their ability to capitalize on early breakthroughs proved decisive in restricting LSG to just 119 runs in 18 overs.
The bowling unit collectively ensured there were no partnerships that could threaten the target, sealing a comprehensive victory.
Big win boosts RR’s campaign
With this 40-run victory, Rajasthan Royals strengthened their position in the IPL 2026 standings and continued their strong run in the tournament.
On the other hand, Lucknow Super Giants were left searching for answers after another disappointing performance, raising concerns over their batting consistency and overall form.
