India delivered a strong performance at the Muhamet Malo Ranking Series 2026 in Tirana, finishing with seven medals — one gold, three silver and three bronze across freestyle, women’s wrestling and Greco-Roman events. The tournament, organised by United World Wrestling, was held from February 25 to March 1 in Tirana, Albania, featuring top wrestlers from around the world.

India’s standout performer was Sujeet Kalkal, who clinched the gold medal in the men’s 65kg freestyle category. The U23 world champion produced an impressive run through the competition to secure the only gold for India at the event.

Indian women wrestlers also made a significant impact by reaching three finals. Meenakshi secured silver in the women’s 53kg category after a hard-fought campaign, while Neha Sangwan finished with silver in the 57kg final, narrowly losing 8–7 in the title bout. Priyanshi Prajapat added another silver in the women’s 50kg division, contributing to India’s strong women’s wrestling performance.

India also secured three bronze medals at the tournament. Muskan won bronze in the women’s 50kg category, Savita finished third in the 62kg division, and Lalit claimed bronze in the men’s Greco-Roman 55kg event to complete India’s medal tally.

India’s medal winners – Muhamet Malo Ranking Series 2026:

Gold: Sujeet Kalkal – Men’s freestyle 65kg

Silver: Priyanshi Prajapat – Women’s 50kg

Silver: Meenakshi – Women’s 53kg

Silver: Neha Sangwan – Women’s 57kg (lost final 8–7)

Bronze: Muskan – Women’s 50kg

Bronze: Savita – Women’s 62kg

Bronze: Lalit – Greco-Roman 55kg

The seven-medal haul highlighted India’s growing depth in international wrestling and provided valuable ranking points ahead of upcoming global competitions.
