Team GB’s mixed doubles curling pair moved to the edge of the Winter Olympics semi-finals after extending their perfect record with a strong victory over Canada in Cortina. Bruce Mouat and Jen Dodds produced another composed performance to strengthen their position at the top of the standings.

Mouat and Dodds dominated the early stages, racing into a 5-1 lead after just three ends. Their sharp shot-making and confident approach put immediate pressure on the Canadian pair and lifted the home crowd inside the Cortina Curling Stadium.
Control Through The Middle Ends
The British duo maintained their momentum and led 5-2 at the halfway stage. Two excellent closing throws from Dodds pushed the score to 7-3, giving GB firm control with only two ends remaining.
Late Drama But Calm Finish
A rare error allowed Canada to score two late points and briefly revive the contest. However, Mouat and Dodds stayed focused and blanked the final end to secure a 7-5 win and move closer to qualification.
Semi Final Spot Within Reach
With six wins usually enough to reach the last four, Team GB have already reached that mark. They now sit top of the round-robin table and are well placed ahead of their next match against the United States.
Muir Impresses In Slopestyle Qualifying
Elsewhere, Kirsty Muir made a strong start to her Olympic campaign by finishing third in freeski slopestyle qualifying. The 21 year old posted a best score of 64.98 and finished behind Mathilde Gremaud and Eileen Gu.
Strong Comeback After Injury
After returning from a long ACL injury layoff, Muir has enjoyed an impressive season, including three World Cup golds. Her form has strengthened her status as one of Team GB’s leading medal hopes ahead of Monday’s final.
