World number one women’s singles tennis player, Aryna Sabalenka, has won her second consecutive US Open title. She defeated Amanda Anisimova in straight sets, 6-3, 7-6 (3), to add a fourth major championship to her career.

Notably, Sabalenka tasted success in her 7th career Grand Slam final, racing to a 4-3 win-loss record. She now owns 4 Grand Slams with all four coming on hard courts – Australian Open (2) and US Open (2). She had entered the 2025 US Open as the defending champion.

4th Grand Slam title for Sabalenka

The 27-year-old Belarusian has had an incredible run in Grand Slams over the past three years. Out of 11 Grand Slams, she has won four, reached three finals, three semi-finals, and one quarter-final. This victory at the US Open was her first Slam title of the season. She had reached the final at the Australian Open and Roland Garros but lost both.

100th career win in Grand Slam matches

This is Sabalenka’s 100th career win in Grand Slam matches. She is 100-26 at Grand Slams. Notably, she received a walkover in the quarter-finals of the US Open this season which doesn’t count as a win. At the US Open, Sabalenka owns a 34-6 win-loss record from 41 matches (one walkover contest).

3rd player with this record in Open Era

Sabalenka is the third player during the Open Era to win her first four Grand Slam titles on hard-court after Naomi Osaka and Kim Clijsters, as per Opta Ace.

Meanwhile, she is the second player in the Open Era to claim a 100th women’s singles match wins at Grand Slams in a final after Iga Swiatek, who achieved the feat at Wimbledon this year.
