‘A Festival of Hockey’: Free Entry Announced for Asia Cup in Rajgir

NewsDrum

Hockey fans in Bihar are set for a special treat as Hockey India has announced that entry for the Hero Men’s Asia Cup 2025, scheduled from August 29 to September 7 at the Rajgir Hockey Stadium, will be completely free of cost.

Digital Ticketing for Easy Access

Supporters can secure their complimentary passes by registering through www.ticketgenie.in

or the official Hockey India app. Once registered, fans will receive a virtual ticket, ensuring smooth, paperless entry into the stadium.

‘More Than Just a Tournament’

Hockey India President Dr. Dilip Tirkey called the event a milestone for Indian hockey.

“By opening the gates for free, we want students, families, and every sports lover to enjoy world-class hockey in Rajgir. This isn’t just a competition, it’s a celebration of the sport,” he said.

Secretary General Bhola Nath Singh added that the initiative reflects Hockey India’s focus on grassroots promotion and will help boost the popularity of hockey in the region.

Stakes High With World Cup Spots at Play

Eight top Asian teams – India, Japan, China, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Korea, Bangladesh, and Chinese Taipei – will compete for continental supremacy. Importantly, the tournament also serves as a qualifier for the 2026 FIH Hockey World Cup, making every match crucial.

India has been placed in Pool A alongside Japan, China, and Kazakhstan. Their group-stage fixtures are:

India vs China – August 29

India vs Japan – August 31

India vs Kazakhstan – September 1

Rajgir Set for Hockey Fever

The state-of-the-art Rajgir Hockey Stadium is set to welcome packed crowds as the region hosts an international hockey tournament of this magnitude for the first time. With free entry, fans will get to witness elite hockey action up close, making the Asia Cup a festival of sport for the entire community.
