Jyothi Yarraji Continues Upward Momentum with 12.85s at EA-IFAM

Indian sprint hurdler Jyothi Yarraji produced another encouraging performance on the international circuit by clocking 12.85 seconds in the women’s 100m hurdles at the World Athletics Continental Tour Bronze (EA-IFAM) meet in Oordegem, Belgium. The timing marked one of her fastest performances of the season and underlined her steady return to top-level competition following her comeback from an ACL injury.

Yarraji’s latest run comes at an important stage of the season as she continues building momentum ahead of major international championships. Her 12.85-second effort is just 0.07 seconds slower than her national record of 12.78 seconds, highlighting how close she is to regaining peak form.

Key Highlights

Event: Women’s 100m Hurdles

Competition: World Athletics Continental Tour Bronze – EA-IFAM

Venue: Oordegem, Belgium

Timing: 12.85 seconds

Achievement: One of Yarraji’s fastest performances this season and another strong international outing.

A Positive Sign Ahead of Major Championships

The result further strengthens confidence in Yarraji’s return after missing significant competition due to injury. Since returning to the track, the Indian hurdler has consistently improved her timings, showing the sharpness and rhythm that made her one of Asia’s leading sprint hurdlers.

A two-time Asian champion and India’s national record holder in the event, Yarraji has established herself as one of the country’s most dependable athletics stars. Her latest performance suggests she is on course to challenge for medals again on the continental stage while also aiming to lower her own national record in the coming months.

Looking Ahead

With every race, Jyothi Yarraji appears to be closing the gap to her personal best. Running 12.85 seconds at a competitive European meet is another indication that the Indian star is regaining her best form at the right time. As the international athletics calendar intensifies, performances like these will boost her confidence and reinforce India’s hopes of seeing another podium finish from its premier hurdler.
