World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka produced another commanding display at Wimbledon 2026, defeating Latvia’s Jelena Ostapenko 6-4, 6-4 to secure her place in the fourth round and set up a highly anticipated clash with four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka.
Sabalenka controlled much of the contest on Centre Court, matching Ostapenko’s power with aggressive returning and clinical serving. The Belarusian struck at key moments in both sets, holding her nerve under pressure to complete the victory in just over 90 minutes.
The top seed has looked increasingly comfortable on grass throughout the tournament and is yet to drop a set. Her all-round game, combining powerful baseline hitting with improved movement and variety, has made her one of the leading contenders for the women’s singles title.
