The Indian Junior Women’s Hockey Team has departed for an important exposure tour of the United Kingdom, where the young squad will play a series of matches against top European opposition as part of its preparations for upcoming international tournaments.
The tour, scheduled from July 4 to July 14, will see India play six matches against junior teams from England, Belgium, and the Netherlands. The matches are aimed at giving the players valuable experience against high-quality opponents and helping the coaching staff assess combinations ahead of future competitions.
Head coach Tushar Khandker said the tour would provide an excellent platform for the players to test themselves in challenging conditions and gain exposure to different styles of play.
The Indian squad includes several promising youngsters who have impressed in domestic and junior-level competitions. The management believes regular international exposure will be crucial in developing the next generation of players capable of representing the senior national team in the coming years.
India’s campaign will begin with matches against England, followed by fixtures against Belgium and the Netherlands during the 10-day tour.
This exposure tour is expected to play a key role in shaping India’s preparations for future junior international events and strengthening the country’s hockey talent pipeline.
