The Indian women’s hockey team wrapped up its tour of Australia with plenty of positives despite suffering a narrow 3-2 defeat in the fourth and final match in Perth on Saturday. The result meant the four-match series finished locked at 2-2, highlighting India’s growing competitiveness against one of the world’s strongest hockey nations.
Bright Beginning for India
India made an ideal start and stunned the hosts within the opening minutes. Experienced forward Navneet Kaur converted a penalty corner in the second minute to put the visitors ahead and set the tone for an aggressive first half.
