Former NHL star Claude Lemieux, renowned for his aggressive style and clutch playoff performances, has died at the age of 60. The news was confirmed by the NHL Alumni Association and multiple hockey organizations.
Lemieux won four Stanley Cups during a celebrated 21-season NHL career, lifting the trophy with the Montreal Canadiens, Colorado Avalanche and New Jersey Devils. He was also awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP in 1995.
Widely known for his physical intensity and ability to deliver in high-pressure moments, Lemieux scored 80 playoff goals — among the highest totals in NHL postseason history. Tributes poured in across the hockey world following the announcement of his death.
