Carlos Alcaraz Withdraws From Wimbledon And Queen’s Club Due To Wrist Injury

Carlos Alcaraz confirmed that he will miss both Wimbledon and the prestigious Queen’s Club tournament after failing to recover fully from a wrist injury suffered earlier this year.

The Spanish star revealed that although his rehabilitation is progressing positively, he is still not fit enough to compete on grass courts. The decision comes as a major blow for tennis fans, with Alcaraz considered one of the biggest attractions on the ATP Tour.

In a message shared on social media, the 23-year-old admitted he was disappointed to skip two tournaments that hold special importance in his career.

Wimbledon dealt major blow

Alcaraz’s withdrawal leaves a significant gap in the Wimbledon draw. The Spaniard is a two-time Wimbledon champion and has been one of the most dominant players on grass in recent years.

He had already missed the clay-court season due to the same injury, including the French Open, where he was expected to defend his title. His absence now means he will miss back-to-back Grand Slam tournaments during a crucial stage of the season.

Focus shifts to recovery and comeback

The world No. 2 said his main focus remains on recovery and returning to full fitness rather than rushing back into competition. His team is reportedly prioritising long-term health to avoid aggravating the wrist problem further.

Alcaraz has not played competitively since suffering discomfort during the Barcelona Open earlier this season. Since then, he has withdrawn from multiple tournaments while continuing rehabilitation work.

Opportunity opens up for rivals

With Alcaraz sidelined, several top contenders could benefit during the grass-court swing. World No. 1 Jannik Sinner is now expected to enter Wimbledon as one of the strongest favourites, while Novak Djokovic could also see a clearer path in the tournament.

Alcaraz’s absence is likely to impact the intensity of the growing rivalry between him and Sinner, which has become one of the defining storylines in modern men’s tennis.
