Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman congratulated the Bangladesh national cricket team after their historic 2-0 Test series sweep over Pakistan, praising the players for their determination and outstanding performances.
The Bangladesh PM hailed the team’s achievement after the Tigers defeated Pakistan by 78 runs in the second Test at Sylhet to complete a memorable clean sweep on home soil.
In his congratulatory message, Rahman expressed confidence that Bangladesh cricket would continue progressing on the international stage and said the historic victory would inspire the country’s younger generation to take up sports.
He also praised the players, coaching staff and officials for maintaining discipline, unity and self-belief throughout the series. Bangladesh’s dominant performance marked their second consecutive 2-0 Test series sweep against Pakistan after previously achieving the feat in Pakistan in 2024.
Bangladesh sealed the series behind strong contributions from veterans Mushfiqur Rahim and Litton Das, while spinner Taijul Islam starred with a match-winning six-wicket haul in the final innings.
The victory further strengthened Bangladesh’s growing reputation in Test cricket and extended their recent dominance over Pakistan in the longest format of the game.
