Punjab Kings openers Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya have etched their names into the Indian Premier League record books after becoming the first uncapped batting pair to register more than 1000 partnership runs in the tournament’s history.
The landmark was achieved during PBKS’ IPL 2026 clash against Mumbai Indians at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala.
Historic Partnership Continues To Shine
The duo once again gave Punjab Kings a flying start, adding 50 runs for the opening wicket before Priyansh Arya was dismissed for 22 by Deepak Chahar in the final over of the powerplay.
With that stand, the pair crossed the 1000-run mark together — a remarkable achievement considering both players are still uncapped at international level.
The opening combination has emerged as one of the biggest positives for Punjab Kings this season, consistently providing aggressive starts and stability at the top.
Priyansh Arya Joins Elite Company
Arya’s brief but impactful innings added another personal milestone to his growing IPL journey. The young left-hander became only the second uncapped Indian batter to score 350 or more runs in each of his first two IPL seasons.
He joined former India batter Ambati Rayudu on the exclusive list after following up his impressive 475-run campaign in 2025 with another strong season in 2026.
Prabhsimran Leads From The Front
While Arya departed early, Prabhsimran continued attacking the Mumbai bowlers and smashed a fluent 57 off just 32 balls, including six fours and four sixes.
The PBKS opener also crossed the 400-run mark for the second successive IPL season, putting him alongside names like Suryakumar Yadav and Abhishek Sharma among uncapped batters with multiple 400-plus IPL campaigns.
Bright Future For Punjab Kings
Even though Punjab Kings eventually lost the match to Mumbai Indians, the performances of Prabhsimran and Priyansh once again underlined why the franchise sees them as the future of its batting lineup.
Their fearless style, consistency and chemistry at the top have turned them into one of the most exciting opening pairs of IPL 2026.
