New Zealand all-rounder Mitchell Santner has suffered a grade-three AC joint (shoulder) injury, ruling him out for at least a month, in a major blow to both his national team and IPL franchise.
The injury occurred during an Indian Premier League match while playing for Mumbai Indians against Chennai Super Kings on April 23. Santner hurt his shoulder while attempting a catch and also hit his head on the ground, forcing him off the field.
Medical scans later confirmed the severity of the damage, with New Zealand Cricket stating that he will need at least a month of rest and rehabilitation.
