Razgatlioglu’s MotoGP Dream: Turkish Star Embraces New Challenge

Three-time World Superbike champion Toprak Razgatlioglu is stepping into uncharted territory as he begins his much-anticipated journey in MotoGP in 2026 — a move that marks a bold new chapter in his already decorated career.

At 29, the Turkish rider arrives in MotoGP with a stellar reputation, having dominated the World Superbike scene with multiple titles and a fearless racing style. Now part of the Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP Team, Razgatlioglu is trading familiarity for the unknown, as he adapts to the far more complex and demanding prototype machines.

Despite flashes of promise — including impressive performances in tricky conditions — the transition has been anything but smooth. The shift from production-based Superbikes to MotoGP bikes requires a complete reset in riding technique, something the rider himself has acknowledged.

Razgatlioglu has openly admitted that expectations need to be tempered. Competing at the front may take time, as he continues to understand the bike’s behaviour and build confidence at the highest level.

Off the track, his journey has been shaped by personal challenges, including a difficult upbringing and the loss of his father — experiences that have fuelled his determination to succeed on the global stage.

While immediate success in MotoGP may not be guaranteed, Razgatlioglu’s arrival has injected fresh excitement into the sport. Known for his aggressive braking and spectacular riding style, he remains one of the most compelling new faces on the grid.

For now, 2026 is less about podiums and more about progression — but if his past is any indication, Razgatlioglu’s MotoGP story is only just getting started.
